Try-A-Trade® Take-Out
The Try-A-Trade® feature of the annual Nova Scotia Skills Competition is transforming into a virtual model for 2021. This year, teachers will have the opportunity to turn their own classrooms into a workshop, a design studio, a professional kitchen, and much more in a brand new program that we are calling Try-A-Trade® Take-Out.
Try-A-Trade® Take-Out
These new activities were all designed by industry leaders and allow students to get a hands-on introduction to a skilled trade or technology. Each activity also has curriculum outcomes that have been developed by the Nova Scotia Department of Education.
Participating teachers will receive a supply kit upon successful registration and all resources and budget for supplies will be provided FREE OF CHARGE on behalf of Skills Canada–Nova Scotia. The supply kits include a video featuring an industry professional outlining the basics of the trade, instructions on how to complete the activity, and a page of insights into the current state of the industry!
PLEASE NOTE: There are only a limited number of supply kits available for each individual trade, so please sign up as soon as possible to ensure you secure your preferred activity!
