The Alumni of the Year Award recognizes a medalist from the Nova Scotia Skills Competition, Skills Canada National Competition, or WorldSkills Competition who is a dedicated advocate of the Skills Competition experience.
Nicole Hamilton, a 2018 National gold medalist in Car Painting, and Red Seal Automotive Refinishing Technician Painter received the 2019 Alumni of the Year Award during the Skills Excellence Awards.
Nicole has been a member of the Skills Family for over five years. She began competing at the NSSC in 2014, has travelled to Cape Breton to act as a mentor to young female students, worked the SCNS booth at career exploration events, and even stops in to our office from time to time to help anyway she can. SCNS is lucky to have dedicated and devoted alumni like Nicole who continue their experience with us as a volunteer, sharing their experiences and expertise with a new generation of students and competitors.
